Your SALTY Guide to Morocco ✈️

It all begins with an idea.

We just touched down and want you to have everything you need if you’re thinking of making this trip (you should). Whether you’re planning your first Moroccan adventure or just living vicariously through our stories, here’s the no-BS guide to showing up ready.

Obviously Cory took these photos…

🧳 What to Pack

Forget heavy fabrics and over-stuffed suitcases. Morocco is best enjoyed light, layered, and linen-wrapped. Here’s what we swear by:

  • Loose, breathable clothing – Linen pants > leggings

  • A light scarf – For sun, wind, or modesty at mosques

  • Swimwear – For beach days in Taghazout

  • Comfy sandals + closed-toe shoes – For souks and desert hikes

  • Sunglasses + sunscreen – The sun hits different here

  • Plug adapter – Morocco uses type C & E plugs (like Europe)

Bonus: Bring a small day bag for exploring markets — and leave room in your suitcase for rugs, ceramics, and that one leather bag you didn’t plan on buying.

🧭 Where to Go

We’re splitting our time between Marrakech and the coast — and trust us, the combo hits.

  • Marrakech – Buzzing souks, hidden riads, rooftop restaurants, and hammams that reset your soul. It’s chaos in the best way.

  • Taghazout & Tamraght – Surf towns with laid-back energy, perfect waves, and smoothie bowls for days. Expect sandy feet and salty hair.

If you’ve got more time to explore, add these to your list:

  • Essaouira – A breezy port town with bohemian charm and beachside cafes

  • Fes – For deep culture, ancient medinas, and the oldest university in the world

  • Chefchaouen – Yes, it’s that blue city. Even prettier in person

  • The Sahara Desert – Camel treks, dune hikes, and the clearest stars you’ll ever see

Le Tagine Restaurant — Marrakech.

Grand Riad Farah — Marrakesh

🇲🇦 Things to Know

  • Currency: Moroccan Dirham (MAD). Cash is still king — especially in the souks and along the coast.

  • Language: Arabic + French. A little goes a long way, but English is common in tourist areas.

  • Haggling is expected — it’s part of the culture, not rude. Channel your inner negotiator.

  • Dress modestly in cities: Covered shoulders and knees help you blend in and show respect.

  • Taxis rarely run meters — agree on the price before hopping in.

🕰 Best Time to Visit

March–May and September–November: Warm days, cool nights, fewer crowds

⚠️ June–August: Scorching. Like 45°C scorching.

🌧 Winter: Mild and moody in the cities, cooler on the coast

Spring Reset: A Goal-Setting Moment 🌱

It all begins with an idea.

This is your mid-year tune-up. A pause. A stretch. A quiet moment to check in with yourself.

Growth doesn’t have to be loud — it just has to be yours.

Use this as a reset. A chance to realign with what matters, and move into the season with intention.

🧠 Prompt:

What do you want more of in your life this season?

Write down three things — big or small — that you want to feel, build, or invite in.

Example:

• More mornings that don’t start with email

• More connection (IRL > DMs)

• More sweat, more sunsets, more space to breathe

Then ask yourself:

What do I need to do (or stop doing) to make room for those things?

List 1–3 shifts you’re ready to make.
