About the Retreat

Morocco is full days, full plates, full stories. You wake up to the ocean, move your body, eat something you can't pronounce, make a friend who lives on a different continent, and fall asleep full.

Mornings start with a SALTY workout on the roof or the beach, then breakfast at the lodge — bread still warm, jam that ruins all other jam, mint tea poured from a height. Surf sessions run at the breaks around Taghazout, with a dedicated day trip up to Imsouane when the wind's right. If you've never stood up on a board, you will. If you've surfed for years, the Atlantic will still humble you a little.

Afternoons belong to Morocco itself. One day it's the souk in Agadir, haggling for rugs you didn't plan to buy. Another day it's Paradise Valley — a canyon walk that ends in swimming holes you'd have to see to believe. Another is quieter: a yoga flow on the roof, a long lunch at a local café, a nap with the windows open.

Nights stretch. Tagines on the terrace, fresh-caught fish grilled over coals, the sun going down over the Atlantic in colors your camera will not do justice. Some nights are quiet dinners. Some nights are not. You'll figure out which is which.

It's a small group on purpose. 20–25 people, room to actually know everyone's name, the kind of trip where by Day 3 the group chat is already out of control. You leave with a tan, a few bruises from Paradise Valley, a pile of photos, and a handful of people you'll be texting for years.

Where You'll Stay

Surf and Friends Lodge

Taghazout, Morocco

A surf lodge in the heart of Taghazout, a short walk from the beach and the main strip of cafés and shops. Rooftop for yoga and sunrise. Common areas built for actually hanging out. Breakfast set up every morning with Moroccan staples — olives, cheese, warm bread, jam, eggs, and mint tea that will convert you. Rooms are comfortable, not showy. The vibe is closer to "coolest friend's place in Morocco" than "international hotel."

Morocco runs high on adventure and culture, medium on sweat, low on party. This is the trip for guests who want their days full of waves, walks, spices, and stories — and their nights a little earlier. Small group (20–25) means the friendships go deep fast. If you want beach club DJs until 3 a.m., see Sicily.

Everything you need to plan your trip.

Not even a little. About half the group every year has never been on a board. Local guides run lessons from the ground up at beginner-friendly breaks, and you'll be standing up by Day 2. Bring the humility and we'll handle the rest.

Nope, and you won't be alone in that. Most guests come solo. We do room matching by age and vibe, the private WhatsApp group kicks in about a month before the trip, and Day 1 is built to get everyone talking. By Day 3 you'll have a group chat that won't stop pinging.

All levels welcome, genuinely. Workouts are scalable. You can go hard every day or do half of them. There's no pressure to perform, and no one's keeping score. The only non-negotiable is being open to trying stuff.

Most passports (including Canadian, American, and most European) don't need a visa for stays under 90 days. Check your country's specifics before booking. We'll send pre-trip documents with everything you need.

$350 wellness programming deposit holds your spot. 50% of the remaining balance is due about a month after booking, and the final 50% is due 45 days before travel. All payments run through Movement Travel, our licensed travel partner. All payments are non-refundable — travel insurance is strongly recommended.
